Nice dragon ^^ The photo is not very clear, so it is hard to say for sure, but I think it is very pale, so you could use more concentrated colors here. I like the background that looks like wet on wet but it could be more saturated. As for shading to get natural look you can try to use different color than just more intensive base color, usually the shade is more blue than the highlight easy way to do shadow is to use semi transparent paynes grey also keep in mind that ambient light is making the things that are not in direct light visible
